As a follow-up to the metro pillar project in Spijkenisse in 2022, the municipality of Spijkenisse has approached us to extend this colorful project to design and paint extra sets of metro pillars to cheer up the neighbourhood around the metro stations.

This time it involves the section of metro pillars between metro stops Heemraadlaan and Spijkenisse Akkers. Last October we have started painting 2 sets, the two tallest in the water, which was very challenging to paint them everyday on a floating platform. Because these metro pillars are standing in the water, the lively jumpy carper fish design refers to the very special location on the water.

Thanks a lot to the lovely neighbourhood who cheer us everyday and helping out like getting us in and out of the infloatable boats :)!

The rest of the sets will be painted in the spring of 2025, we’ll be back!
