Nederlands Insituut voor Beeld & Geluid, the Dutch Institute for Sound and Vision contacted us if we could design and make a mini exhibition space which could travel to different regions in the Netherlands to promote local music.
We accepted the challenge and came up with an idea inspired by the iconic jukebox music machine; the Jukebox. The installation on wheels has a very playful wavy design referring to sound waves and where you can experience sound and vision in and outside the expo installation.
The Jukebox is a multimedia installation on all 4 sides, where visitors can be fully immerse themselves in the listening boxes on the left and right side. On the front and back, special items can be placed or hanged inside as a mini museum and an interactive tablet on the front for more detailed information, interviews and music games.
In this mini expo you will also find all kinds of records, special artifacts and rare music videos of local music. From swinging Zierikzee to the blues of Vlissingen and Groningen, music is everywhere! With project Music in the Neighbourhood/Muziek in de buurt, the Dutch Institute brings their whole collection of local music where it belongs to discover: in the neighbourhood!
