Friendship was this year’s main theme for the Children’s Book Week 2018 and the week starts with the official opening of the ‘Kinderboekenbal’ (Children’s Book Ball).

In the main hall, everything was divided in different clubs with all sort of activities for the young visitors. We built a Villa Kakelbont house for the Kakel Bont Club that evening. The house was inspired by Pippi Longstocking’s house in the popular Swedish former tv show in the sixties. Inside the Villa we held an exclusive black light disco club :), where kids could write secret messages with black light pens.

The children could join different kind of clubs as the writing club, building club, cocktail club, make-up club, etc. This year it was held in Theater de Meervaart in Amsterdam for the 64th edition.
