‘Reading Pods’ designed and made for ProBiblio, an organisation who support the libraries in North- and South-Holland in their work (https://www.probiblio.nl).

They approached us with the question if we could make seating objects which would be attractive for children and that promotes reading. These seating objects should also be easy and simple to relocate, so they can show it at various festivals and indoor locations.

We came up with the ‘Reading Pods (Dutch: Leespods)’, where the children could find a safe and quiet spot to read their book, but would also be attractive as a playing object.  In total we designed and built three colorful seating objects and one bookcase. During the Children’s Book Week our Reading Pods were located at the Public Library of Rotterdam.

In December you can find the whole installation in the library ‘De Boekenberg” in Spijkenisse, South-Holland.
