On February 1^st, was the start of the Chinese New Year. This year we celebrate the year of the Tiger.

Because of the Rotterdam Chinese New Year celebrations, we came with the idea to make a big zodiac exhibition with all 12 zodiacs. It was important for us to give the zodiacs the look and feel of the traditional Chinese papercut style, but used on a modern way. Therefore all twelve Chinese Zodiacs were specially digital designed by us and lasercut by Lasergun Design. In each animal you can also find his/her specific flower.

On Saturday February 5^th we also did a live painting on the big tiger in the Markthal. We painted one side of the tiger in a colorful and modern style. And the other side of the statue was painted by Sofie Xie in traditional Chinese style.

The zodiac exhibition can be visited for free in the Markthal from February 1^st – 13^th, and in the Timmerhuis from February 14^th – 28^th.
