At the invitation of the Groninger Museum, because of the Children’s Biennale 2024 (Kinderbiennale 2024), we have painted a new design on the Bath Cat and Guppy (which we designed and built 3 years ago for the first Children’s Biennale 2021) and put them back in the water.
This time the Bath Cat would float and be painted in the Oosterparkwijk, Groningen city.
After holding a number of drawing afternoons in the Oosterparkwijk, we selected 6 drawing/designs and used them as inspiration for the new painting of the artworks. Together with these winners (ranging from 7-12 years old), we painted the new design on the artwork.
After that, we worked on it ourselves for another 2 weeks to finish the painting. On July 19, the official unveiling of the Badkat and Guppy in the Pioenvijver took place. The Badkat and Guppy will float there until the end of November 2024:)
