The public library Boekenberg in Spijkenisse approached us with the question whether we would like to make special ‘Seating objects/ Pods’ where children between the ages of 4 and 12 years, can listen to audio books. Via a tablet built into the chair, the children can choose from various listening fragments with headphones and creating their own world inside the chairs.
We have designed and made the Luisterpods/ Listening Pods in such a way that the children can easily crawl into the chairs. The colorful and playful design, with cozy pillows immediately appeals to children, so that they want to sit in the chair right away.
The listening Pods are part of the MLP area (Makkelijk Lezen Plein/ Easy Reading Area),
and we made this whole area extra attractive by placing additional colorful painted tables and benches on the floor where the kids and parents could read on.
